Apply For Housing

Apply for Housing

We are excited you will be living on campus and will use MyCoastalHome to apply for housing. Below is the timeline of when the housing application is available based on the term(s) you are applying for:

  • Academic Year 2024-2025 - Now
  • Summer 2024 - April 1
  • Spring Only 2025 - November 1
Prior to completing the housing application, it is highly advised you review the following information:

Review the two-year, live-on Housing and Meal Plan Requirement. If you qualify to request an exemption, you may submit your request and supporting documentation in MyCoastalHome. Students who are automatically exempt per the requirement do not need to apply for an exemption.

Review the University Housing License Agreement. You will agree to the academic year agreement with your electronic signature as part of the housing application. If you are under 18 years of age at the time of completing your application, you will need a parent or guardian electronically sign it also before you can continue with your application.

Review Residential Community options, housing rates and meal plan rates.

Review the meal plan options on the Campus Dining website. You will select your meal plan on the housing application.

For those students applying for the Academic Year, review information and the timeline about Room Selection.

During the housing application process, you will pay the non-refundable application and prepayment ($200). This fee is separate from your enrollment fee. Have a debit or credit card ready to pay when you start your housing application.

Once you have completed the items above, you are ready to start your housing application. For security reasons, it will "time out" after a period of inactivity. Your application will save as you progress. If you are timed out, you will be able to log back into MyCoastalHome to continue your application. We highly recommend the student (not the parent or guardian) complete the housing application to ensure we receive appropriate preferences. Let's get started!

  1. Go to MyCoastalHome. MyCoastalHome works on the latest version of all modern industry standard browsers except Internet Explorer. Make sure you do not have any add-ons to prevent you from viewing and interacting with the website (e.g. Java Blockers). We also recommend doing it on a laptop or desktop versus phone.

  2. Log into MyCoastalHome using the same information you use to log into your CCU email or Self-Service. If you recently paid your enrollment fee, it may take 24-48 hours until you are able to log in.

  3. When you are directed to the home page, you will click on Apply for Housing at the top of the page.

  4. Select the appropriate housing application to begin.

Housing assignments for terms other than the Academic Year will be made in a multi-step process prior to the start of the term. Assignments will be visible at MyCoastalHome on the Application Summary page.

Prior to the start of a license agreement term, only students who are not required to live in University Housing, students who cancel or decline enrollment or summer students may cancel their housing application and request release from the license agreement. Students required to live in University Housing may not cancel a housing application and request release from the license agreement without receiving an exemption and will be held to the license agreement if enrolled during the license agreement term.

To cancel your housing application and end your financial responsibility, click the Cancel Application image within the housing application. All release requests will be reviewed. The $50 housing application fee and $150 housing prepayment are non-refundable. Students who cancel their housing application who are required to live on campus will be reassigned to a space and assigned a meal plan.

To cancel your housing application and request release from the license agreement, follow the below steps:

  1. Log into MyCoastalHome.
  2. Click Cancel Application on the Home page.
  3. Complete the pages and submit your release request.
  4. University Housing will notify you through your CCU e-mail account with the decision regarding your request.
