Applied Physics Program
The Applied Physics Program at CCU is a place where students can apply physics to various areas of study. We offer tracks in General Physics, Engineering Physics, and Environmental Physics. Students will receive a strong technical background, which is a good foundation for careers in industry, manufacturing, government, medicine, research and development, quality control, and environmental quality.
We also offer a 3-2 Dual Degree Program in Engineering, in Association with Clemson University. Students interested in Civil or Mechanical Engineering will find a good fit within the Applied Physics major.
Students can easily merge their interest in physics with another subject at Coastal Carolina University such as marine science, chemistry, computer science, or mathematics through a minor or double major.
Students interested in teaching science at the secondary level should also consider an applied physics degree and then pursue the M.A.T. (Master of Arts in Teaching) through the Spadoni College of Education.
