Welcome Chanticleer Families!

On behalf of University Housing, let me welcome you home to Coastal Carolina University. Whether you are a returning or a first-time Chanticleer family member, I am very excited your student chose to join our family. The related links below are your key to understanding University Housing and your role as a resident's parent or guardian.

The evidence is clear that students who live in a residence hall persist at higher rates than other students, have higher grade point averages, and report higher levels of connection to the University at large. I hope that you will find these things to be true of your student's experience.

Join with us to encourage your student to be an active member of his or her community, speak kindly to his or her neighbors, get to know and rely on his or her Resident Adviser (RA), and be his or herself at all times. You’ll find that your student is a powerful and important part of the world around him or her.

We hope your student will make an effort to get to know his or her RA and Community Coordinator as soon as he or she arrives. These staff members are here for your student and have participated in intensive training to prepare for his or her arrival. Encourage your student to let them know how they can be helpful and keep them informed of how your student is transitioning to a new year as a student at Coastal Carolina University.
