Universidad de Cuenca
The Universidad de Cuenca, through the Faculty of Philosophy and the Department of Languages, offers an exchange program that allows college students from all over the world to learn Spanish language and experience Latin American culture first-hand. Students also have the opportunity to learn about indigenous Andean people through experiencing Andean customs, rituals and festivals.
Cuenca, the capital of the Province of Azuay, is the third largest city in Ecuador with a population of approximately 350,000 people. Located in an Andean valley 8300 feet above sea level, Cuenca was declared a “World Cultural Heritage Site” by UNESCO in 1999. Cuenca is a beautiful city very rich in culture, history, art, artisans, museums, universities, traditional festivals, mountain scenery, and musicians. It has also preserved many ancient traditions, some dating as far back as the Incas.
CCU is a designated exchange partner of Universidad de Cuenca, which means tuition fees will be based on CCU In-State Tuition rates. Student can study abroad for a full year or a semester.
