The University of Vilnius, one of the oldest and most famous establishments of higher education in Eastern and Central Europe, was founded in 1579. Functioning for a long time as the only school of higher learning in Lithuania, it was a preserver of cultural and scientific traditions, and has played a significant part in the cultural life not only of Lithuania, but the neighboring countries as well.
The International Business School at Vilnius University (IBS VU) is a higher education institution established by Vilnius University in 1989. IBS VU awards Bachelor and Master degrees in Business Administraiton, and is the biggest business school in Lithuania. Every year, more than 100 international students study at IBS VU.
IBS VU is a bilateral partner of Coastal Carolina University, meaning that Coastal students are eligible to apply to Vilnius as a bilateral exchange student. For students interested in studying abroad at IBS VU, applications must first go through Coastal Carolina's study abroad office.
