About the Archives
The University Archives and Special Collections department includes two distinct archives, one focuses on materials created by the university while the other focuses on materials about the local area including residents and businesses.
The Two Archives Collections
University Archives
The University Archives consists of records, documents, and publications created by Coastal Carolina University administrators, deans, directors, faculty, staff, and students. University records and publications of enduring value are collected, preserved, and made accessible regardless of their format. Collections and publications in the university archive are located in several places on campus and require retrieval time; therefore, appointments to use materials are encouraged.
Local History Archive and Manuscript Collections
The Local History Archive accepts papers of individuals and families as well as records of local businesses organizations. These materials should relate to the growth and development of the Waccamaw Neck region throughout its history. Please contact the Archivist and submit a deed of gift form if you would like to donate materials.
