Our Councils

Coastal Carolina Fraternity & Sorority Life is home to almost 700 students, which makes up nearly 10% of the student population.  17 Greek organizations, falling under the national umbrella organizations of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), Fraternity Executive's Association (FEA), and the National Latin American Organizations (NALFO) are represented on our campus.  At Coastal Carolina, our fraternities and sororities are represented by three governing councils: The Panhellenic Council (PHC) for our NPC Sororities, the Interfraternity Council (IFC) for our NIC and FEA Fraternities, and the NPHC Council for our NPHC Fraternities and Sororities, and our NALFO organization.

Panhellenic Council (PHC)

2014 PHC

The women elected to executive offices on the Panhellenic Council do everything from help plan Greek Week, oversee Judicial Board Hearings, train chapters on effective Risk Management strategies, promote unity among the various sororities, run sorority recruitment, and much more.  The Panhellenic Council meets on a weekly basis with chapter delegates from each of the CCU sororities.  These meetings provide time for chapter leaders to share announcements and to discuss the vision of the sorority community.  Panhellenic Council meetings are held Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in Wall 317.

NPHC Council (NPHC)

2014 NPHC

The NPHC serves as the governing council for our four NPHC Fraternities, one NPHC sorority, and one NALFO organization.  In the Fall 2014 we will be welcoming back two of our NPHC fraternities so the governing council is undergoing a major transformation.  Currently, the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life has been working with the chapter president's of each of the organizations.  Be on the look out for regularly scheduled NPHC meetings and an elected executive board in the fall!
