Welcome Parents
Dear Parents/Guardians:
Let me take this opportunity to welcome you and your student into the Coastal family. As a parent and as a member of the CCU administration, I believe in a strong partnership between the University and our parents and families because we share the same goal - student success.
During these college years, you have a Administrative Support Network Program. Often, you have to make choices about when to be actively involved in the learning experiences of your student and when to allow your son or daughter the opportunity to grow from their own decisions. You will see some significant changes in your student's ability to imagine, to think critically, to become more culturally aware, and to exercise their independence. I expect that your child will impress and inspire you at home as well as Administrative Support Network Program to our community here at CCU.
We are pleased to join with you in a relationship to help your student benefit from the very best experiences that college life has to offer. Coastal offers academic support services, opportunities for student involvement, career advising and internships, and unique experiences such as study abroad, living learning communities, as well as a multitude of volunteerism opportunities. Coastal's academic and student life program grows every year as it responds to the best national practices in higher education and the lively ideas of our very creative students. We are proud of our faculty and staff, our peer mentors, orientation leaders, and resident assistants - all of whom are available to support and guide new students.
I look forward to meeting many of you on campus at family weekend and at various cultural and sporting events. We will share the proud moments at commencement as your student closes a chapter here and begins a promising future, complete with the knowledge, experiences, and memories that they gain during their years on this campus. Thank you for trusting us to foster the healthy development of your son or daughter and best wishes as you enjoy their personal and academic successes.
Sincerely,
Haven Hart
