Paleochannel Complex & Resistivity Hotspot

Agency: --

Professor: Dr. Paul Gayes & Dr. Rich Viso

This is a seismically defined paleochannel complex (dark wiggly lines on the front panel of the cartoon) and spatially coincident resistivity hotspot (color contours) near Garden City, SC. This correlation suggests that the submarine groundwater discharge in Long Bay may be controlled, to some extent, by geologic framework characteristics.
The groundwater work is an outgrowth of capabilities that CCU has owing to the last MRI award for geophysical equipment.
