Time: | 0224 | Officer: | Llewellyn | Type: | DUI, DUS, possession of marijuana, false information to a police offier | Location: | Hwy. 501 and Hwy. 544 | Description: | While on patrol a CCU DPS officer observed the subject vehicle disregard a stop sign and stopped the vehicle to investigate. The driver was interviewed and was not able to produce a driver's license proof of insurance or registration for the vehicle. During the interview the driver gave the officer another person's name. The officer determined the passenger was actually the person the driver identified them self as. Due to observations during the interview the officer requested that the driver attempt SFSTs. The driver was not able to successfully complete the SFSTs. The driver was taken into custody and transported to a breath testing facility before transport the officer discovered two bags believed to contain marijuana on the driver's person. The passenger and the vehicle were released to a sober driver. The driver provided a breath sample and was issued citations before being transported to the Horry County Detention Center. |
