The Environmental Health and Safety Department wishes to welcome and thank you for visiting our website. Hopefully it will serve you as a safety awareness resource. Safety awareness is knowledge that promotes common sense personal practices that hopefully will guard individuals from becoming a victim to injury.
Safety is truly everyone's responsibility and requires a united effort from all community members. We encourage everyone to take part in protecting Coastal Carolina University by informing our department of any safety concerns or notable hazards on any of our campuses. Community member support has always been and will remain the best safety tool the University has as a resource. We recommend the use of our online hazard reporting system available on this website to report any safety concerns. This is important because public input is an essential key to assisting the University in providing a safer environment.
Whether a person works, studies, resides or visits Coastal Carolina University, our diverse department of authorized OSHA Trainers, Chemical Hygiene, Indoor Air Quality and Fire/Life Safety Officials are trained and committed to public service. Our department is devoted to student, faculty, staff and community development by offering a rigorous and robust safety training program that hopefully provides the knowledge and skills needed for individuals to protect themselves while they learn, work or visit on campus.
The Department of Environmental Health and Safety staff believes Coastal Carolina University is an extraordinary place by being founded by our local population as a regional learning resource that has developed into a premier public comprehensive liberal arts institution. We are proud of the University's commitment to education and safety and feel our University is as unique as the students that attend here.
