Colleen A. McGlone

Dr. Colleen A. McGlone is the Founding Dean, of the Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance and Professor of Recreation and Sport Management at Coastal Carolina University and serves as the chief academic administrator for the college, its personnel, programs, and administration. Prior to being Dean, she was the Department chair of Recreation and Sport Management, Chair of the Army ROTC program, and Director of the Sport Management graduate program Dr. McGlone earned her B.S in Exercise Science, has a Masters in Health Physical Education and Recreation with concentrations in both Sport Administration and Exercise Science, and a doctorate from the University of New Mexico in Sports Administration with a minor in Exercise Science research. Dr. McGlone’s research interests include being a nationally recognized expert on athletic hazing, organizational culture and leadership, consumer behavior in sport, collegiate athletics, Title IX, and legal aspects of Sport and Recreation. In addition, Dr. McGlone served as President of the National Sport and Recreation Law Association. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a research coordinator for the veteran’s association and served in the United States Navy.
