Biography

Heather Huffman was born and raised in rural Indiana surrounded by corn fields, small towns, and Argyll enthusiasts. After high school, she went to Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education. While completing student teaching, though, she realized she did not want to teach elementary school and spent the next couple years a little lost and deciding on what she wanted to do. She decided to pursue working in higher education based on her experiences at Ball State and went on to earn a Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

After being a cardinal and a falcon, Heather decided to keep the bird mascot theme and joined the CCU advising staff in 2009. She chose to pursue advising because she enjoys figuring out the puzzle of course schedules and registration and helping students work toward their academic and career goals. In her time in advising, she has worked with almost every major in Edwards College, and she became Director of Edwards College Advising in 2019. Outside of advising, she enjoys watching ridiculous amounts of television and movies, reading books, attempting crafty projects of all types, and traveling to Walt Disney World whenever she can.
