Biography

Chelsey R. Simmons is an assistant professor of counseling and psychology with both the Spadoni College of Education and Social Sciences and the Gupta College of Science. In addition to her previous two years of service at Coastal Carolina University, she served as a school psychologist for the Georgetown County School District for ten years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in both psychology and sociology from the College of Charleston, and her Master of Arts degree in psychology and Educational Specialist Degree in School Psychology from the Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. She received a Ph. D. in Education with a concentration in curriculum, instruction, and assessment from Coastal Carolina University in 2022. She is also a Licensed Psychoeducational Specialist (LPES) in South Carolina, serving as a private behavioral health service provider to individuals in Horry and Georgetown counties.
