Biography
Dr. J.C. Abdallah is a quantitative researcher who examines the intersection of sport, media, and identification. His main interest in these topics are how fans interact and identify with their favorite sports teams and other fans. His dissertation examined differences in social media consumption and production among NFL and college football fans. He was named a Ronald E. McNair Scholar as an undergraduate. In terms of teaching, Dr. Abdallah has taught sports communication, persuasion, mass communication, communication research methods, and public speaking. He grew up in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area and is a passionate fan of the Steelers and Penguins.
