Tomcyzk earns Ombuds certification

Charmaine Tomcyzk, director of undegraduate research, has earned certification as an Organizational Ombuds Practitioner. Only one other International Ombudsman Association (IOA) member received certification this January, which brings to 85 the total number of certified ombuds internationally.

Tomczyk serves as the University's Faculty Ombuds. Following an internal search, she was elected by the Faculty Senate and confirmed by the University Provost to serve a temporary term from August 2008 through December 2009. A faculty review committee recommended continuation of the position through December 2012.
