Health promotion faculty presents

Three health promotion faculty members presented recently at the First International Conference on Youth Risk Behaviors in Cancun, Mexico, from Jan. 6 to 9. John Yannessa and Fredanna M’Cormack presented a paper on “Sexual Assertiveness: A preliminary analysis of a potential psychological correlate to sexual risk taking behaviors among a sample of youth living in the American Southeast.” Their research was co-authored with CCU students Ashley Morrison and Derek Johnson. Sharon Thompson's presentation, "An exploratory study of the relationship between yoga practice and depression, anxiety, and eating problems among undergraduate students," was co-authored with CCU student Brittany Birnbaum. All three students are health promotion majors.
