Jazz After Hours concert to present spring concert

Jazz After Hours, Coastal Carolina University's jazz big band, will present its spring concert on Monday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wheelwright Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University. The concert is free and open to the public.

Coastal's 21-musician jazz ensemble with a big band sound will perform a variety of arrangements and styles including: swing, Latin, rock, blues and a New Orleans-style gospel song.

The concert will also feature a performance by a smaller improvisational group made up of members of the larger band. In addition, the concert will showcase the group's two vocalists performing songs made famous by Les Paul and Mary Ford, Ella Fitzgerald and B.B. King.

Dan O'Reilly, a teaching associate at Coastal who performs in various bands and orchestras around the Grand Strand, directs the band.
