CCU history professors to discuss S.C. secession in 1860
The speakers:
• Jennifer Murray is a lecturer in history specializing in American military history and the Civil War. She has a Ph.D. from Auburn University and joined the CCU faculty in 2010.
• John Navin is an associate professor of history specializing in the colonial and national periods of American history. He earned a Ph.D. from Brandeis University and joined the CCU faculty in 1999.
• Eldred "Wink" Prince Jr. is a professor of history whose specialties are Southern history and South Carolina history. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina and joined the CCU faculty in 1987. He is the director of CCU's Waccamaw Center for Historical and Cultural Studies.
Following their presentations there will be a panel discussion with questions from the audience. The event is sponsored by the Waccamaw Center for Historical and Cultural Studies and the Department of History at Coastal Carolina University.
