CCU discussion series tackles team ethics

Coastal Carolina University staff members Lawson Holland, interim vice president for philanthropy, and Hunter Yurachek, director of athletics, will lead a panel discussion called “Team Ethics” on Thursday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m. in Adkins Fieldhouse, Room 315. The event is free and open to the public.
Holland will reflect on his experience as a former football coach, focusing on an athlete’s responsibility to the team. For example, what should a teammate should do when he/she receives information about another teammate’s use of performance-enhancing drugs? Yurachek’s portion will focus on his commitment to develop “Champions for Life,” a program designed not only to improve student-athletes’ performance on and off the field, but to help prepare them for success after college at the professional level. There will also be a Q-and-A session.
The event is part of the Tea and Ethics Discussion Series presented by CCU’s Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values. For more information, contact the center at 843-349-4149.
