Coastal Carolina University names associate counsel
She has served the University in the areas of risk management and contract management during the past year and is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA). She recently passed the South Carolina Bar Association exam and was sworn in on Nov. 7. "We are excited to have such an outstanding legal talent as Ms. Brooks," said Meacham. "Her previous work in electronic contract management and risk management at CCU gives her the institutional knowledge required for the position. Her transition to associate university counsel is a natural fit and a definite plus for the Office of University Counsel and the entire Coastal Carolina University community."
She earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and sociology from the University of South Carolina in 2012, graduating cum laude, and a juris doctor from Charleston School of Law in Charleston in 2015. She served as editor-in-chief of The Federal Courts Law Review.
She is adviser for CCU's Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society and a university counsel liaison for several committees and boards.
