With a name that translates to "ash tree clearing by the holy bush," Ashley Delahoussaye was a brilliant light whose vibrant spirit touched all who knew her.
Though her time on Earth was tragically cut short, Ashley's lasting impact will continue to illuminate the way for others through the Ashley Delahoussaye Memorial Endowment at Coastal Carolina University. An unapologetically joyful soul, Ashley radiated wisdom and positivity far beyond her years. Her entrepreneurial passion for hair styling shone through in the meticulous braiding work she lovingly crafted whenever she could. As a cherished member of the Indian Land High School Blusquad dance team, she brought unmatched energy and an occasional sassy attitude that endeared her to classmates and coaches alike.
From a very young age, Ashley embraced a remarkable work ethic alongside her family's unwavering love and support. Her dedication began with a part-time job at age 15 and continued through her later role at Harris Teeter. No matter where life took her, Ashley prioritized quality time with her loved ones, whether road-tripping, dining out, or making lasting memories like their celebrated island-hopping cruises. With her profound gift for uplifting those around her through witty quips and sage advice, Ashley left an indelible mark on every heart she touched. Her decision to attend Coastal Carolina University in the fall of 2024 to pursue a Bachelor's in Business Administration and Accounting was just the start of her ambitious dreams. Aspiring to join the audit practice at KPMG while also opening her very own hair salon, Ashley's future overflowed with limitless potential and a driving passion to connect with others.
Though Ashley's bright light now shines from Heaven's domain, her legacy will burn ever brighter through this endowment. By supporting the educational journeys of future business leaders and creative entrepreneurs, her beautiful spirit will continue to be a guiding force of unstoppable joy. Ashley will be deeply mourned yet lovingly celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing her unapologetic radiance.
