Lecouras to speak on Hemingway's 'A Farewell to Arms'
Lecouras is an associate professor of English at CCU and he is the recently-elected chair of the Burroughs and Chapin Art Museum. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of South Carolina and a Ph. D. in English from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
The 1929 novel, set in Italy and Switzerland during World War I, is considered one of Hemingway's most outstanding achievements and one of the most compelling war novels ever written. Lecouras teaches Hemingway in his American literature and literary theory courses, and has published articles in literary journals on various aspects of the author's work.
