Hispanic Celebration honors Latin cultures

The Hispanic Celebration at Coastal Carolina University is scheduled for Thursday, March 29 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Prince Lawn. The event is free and open to the public.

The celebration is designed to highlight the history, music, dance and art of the Hispanic and Spanish-speaking cultures.

The event will feature Arena Sound, a Latin band from Woodstock, Ga., as well as various student presentations and table displays from students in the CCU Spanish department. A new student Spanish group, FURI, will perform Spanish dance routines, including salsa and merengue. CCU student Ashlee Dubinsky will lead a zumba session, and student Charles Grace will play the guitar.

The Hispanic Celebration is co-sponsored by the University's Department of World Languages and Cultures.
