Orientation at Coastal Carolina University consists of 3 parts which are explained below.

1. Online Orientation Modules:

It will take you approximately one hour to complete the orientation, and you do have the option to stop and restart as needed. In order to access the online orientation modules, make sure you have your CCU login credentials. You will have access to the program within 1 hour of registering for your orientation. Once you have successfully completed all the parts of the online orientation, you will be ready to join us for classes.

2. In-Person Orientation:

All new students are also required to attend an in-person one-day orientation program on campus. Students will meet with representatives from various offices and academic departments as well as connect with other incoming students. Attendance at all sessions is required for new students. Attendance for family members at the concurrent family orientation component is optional and costs an additional $30 per family member (paid for during the student registration process).

3. Teal Nation Welcome

Teal Nation Welcome is the final culmination of programs as you begin your journey as a Chanticleer! It is a week long program beginning with move-in and continuing through the first week of classes. Teal Nation Welcome helps students get connected to people on campus and make the university feel like home. There are some mandatory programming for transfer students. Family orientation consists of two components and is completely optional:

  1. Online Orientation Modules
    • This self-paced orientation will provide a comprehensive overview of programs and services available to your student at CCU. This online orientation experience is the exact same module that your student is required to complete. We find it helpful for family members to see and experience the same information and delivery method, as it allows for post-experience discussion and reinforces our desire to partner with you in supporting your student’s success.
    • Family members may create an account through the following link Create a Family Account for the Online Orientation Experience.
  2. Two Day In-Person Orientation (coincides with your student's registered session).
    • While participation/attendance at Orientation is required for new students, it is optional for family members. Family members who choose to attend the on-campus program with their new Chanticleer will attend some sessions with their student and some sessions separately. Student and Family participants will meet with representatives from various offices and academic departments as well as connect with other incoming students and families.
