Student Organization & Advisor Resources

Advisors Information

Advisors are an integral and important part of the success and management of student organizations at Coastal Carolina University. In this position, student organization advisors can help students explore their passions, make an impact on campus, and connect to their fellow students.

All organizations must have a CCU faculty and/or staff advisor or a Non-CCU Volunteer as an advisor to be a group in good standing with the University. Below are some resources to assist faculty and staff to be positive and effective advisors at CCU.

  • How do I become a student organization advisor?
    • To become an advisor of a student organization, faculty and staff members must fill out the Advisor Confirmation Form (PDF).
    • Volunteer advisors MUST complete the Human Resource & Equal Opportunity Volunteer Data Form & undergo a background check before working with the student organizations in any capacity.  This documentation can be emailed to Caitlin Harrington at charringt@coastal.edu

Please review pages 11-12 of the Student Organization Handbook for more information on advisor expectations and the role of an advisor.
